West Virginia University (WVU) reopened its Agricultural Sciences Building on Saturday morning after a reported chemical leak prompted an earlier closure. The building, located in the Evansdale area of campus, was shut down as a precautionary measure following the report made before 9 a.m.

Upon investigation, it was determined that there was no chemical issue present. "Following investigation of the initial report, no chemical issue was found," stated WVU officials.

The university had issued a WVU Alert to inform the community about the situation. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during this incident.

Teams from WVU Environmental Health and Safety assessed the situation with assistance from the WVU Police Department and other departments and agencies to ensure safety.
