Salem International University enrolls 747 undergrads

At Salem International University, 53 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 58 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private for-profit institution in Salem enrolled 990 students in fall 2018, including 747 in undergraduate and 243 in graduate programs, data shows. 11 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

21 percent of undergraduates are residents of West Virginia, and 59 percent are residents of other states. 20 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (39 percent) and Black or African American (20 percent).
