West Virginia University (WVU) is set to honor three individuals for their significant contributions to the university community. Chief Sherry St. Clair, Kathy Clingerman, and Doina Jikich will be recognized by the Division of Student Life during a ceremony on October 7 in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.

Chief Sherry St. Clair will receive the Outstanding Achievement Award. As WVU's first female police chief, appointed in 2021, she has dedicated 30 years to campus safety. Known for her proactive policing style, she fosters strong relationships within the university community through engagement and communication. Morgan Sharpless, director of CARE, praised her commitment: “Consistently going above and beyond to meet the needs of students, Sherry is the epitome of what it means to be student-centered.”

Kathy Clingerman will be inducted into the Hall of Fame after retiring in April following 43 years at WVU. She spent 37 years as supervisor of reservations at Mountainlair student union and was known for her warm demeanor and attention to detail in managing over 3,000 events annually.

Doina Jikich will also join the Hall of Fame. She retired in 2019 after serving as executive director for international students and scholars services in WVU's Office of Global Affairs. Her legal background and personal experience as an immigrant helped her support international students' integration and compliance with immigration regulations.

The public is invited to attend both the ceremony at 3:30 p.m. and a reception at 4 p.m.
