WVU Board of Governors elects new officers for 2024-25 term

The West Virginia University Board of Governors has announced its officers for the 2024-25 term. Richard “Rick” Pill has been elected as BOG chair, Dr. Patrice Harris as vice chair, and Robert “Bob” Reynolds as secretary.

Pill, a Morgantown native and founding member of Pill & Pill, PLLC in Martinsburg, is an alumnus of WVU with degrees in business administration and law. His legal practice focuses on commercial and residential real estate transactions. He has held leadership roles in several professional organizations including the West Virginia Bar Association and the American College of Real Estate Lawyers. Pill's involvement with WVU includes serving on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and establishing a scholarship for law students.

Dr. Harris, co-founder and CEO of eMed, earned her degrees in psychology, counseling psychology, and medicine from WVU. She completed her psychiatry residency at Emory University School of Medicine. Harris was the 174th president of the American Medical Association and serves on multiple committees within WVU.

Reynolds, chairman of Great-West Lifeco U.S., has had significant roles in Putnam Investments and Fidelity Investments. An architect of modern retirement plans like employer-sponsored 401(k) plans, Reynolds holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from WVU. He is recognized for his contributions to WVU through various honors including having Reynolds Hall named after him.

The BOG will next meet on Sept. 20 and governs WVU, WVU Institute of Technology, and WVU Potomac State College.
