Catholic Vote President Brian Burch said the political left and supporters of Biden and the transgender movement are worsening the “unfair treatment of female athletes.”

"Evidence of the widening gap between the political left and political right in this country is everywhere, and a male student winning against females over 700 times is a crazy example of that gap,” Burch told NC West Virginia News. “Those voting for Biden are supporting this unfair treatment of female athletes, and they are giving consent to a court system that often acts as a rubber stamp for this lunacy."

A lawsuit out of West Virginia was filed against the Biden administration for the overhaul of Title IX, which previously protected female sports in academic settings. Fox News reported that the lawsuit comes after a West Virginia middle school student displaced female athletes over 700 times in three seasons of competition. Nonprofit civil rights group Alliance Defending Freedom has filed a motion asking the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals to block Biden’s new Title IX rules.

In April, Title IX rules were issued by Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona, and mandated that “gender identity” be included in the discrimination against an individual’s biological sex. The administration has claimed that the change wouldn't affect sports, but attorneys for ADF say that is not the case. ADF senior counsel Rachel Rouleau said "the Biden administration’s radical redefinition of sex will upend the equal opportunities that women and girls have enjoyed for 50 years under Title IX and will threaten their safety and privacy at every level."

According to Fox, a federal court ruled against ADF and allowed a male student identifying as a female to compete on the girls' team at Bridgeport Middle School, resulting in the female athletes being behind the student in question over 700 times in the next three seasons.

Madison, Wisconsin-based Catholic Vote is an advocacy organization that wants to “inspire every Catholic in America to live out the truths of our faith in public life,” according to the group’s website. Founded in 2008, its president is Brian Burch.
