AB announces scholarship and employment opportunities with Mon Health Systems

Alderson Broaddus University (AB) and Mon Health Systems are proud to offer AB Nursing Students the opportunity of scholarship benefits and the promise of employment with Mon Health Systems upon graduation with a nursing degree. Mon Health Systems will provide selected recipients $7,200 to cover expenses such as tuition, textbooks, and academic fees. An additional $200.00 will be allocated for the NCLEX-RN exam.

Designed to aid in expanding Registered Nursing careers in North Central West Virginia, this partnership unites the rigors of Alderson Broaddus University’s School of Nursing with the clinical experience provided by Mon Health Systems.

“The AB School of Nursing is excited to join this partnership with Mon Health,” explains Dr. Kim White, Chair, School of Nursing and Associate Professor of Nursing at Alderson Broaddus University. “This collaboration provides financial support to students and a bridge between education and entering practice. In addition, this pathway will facilitate the new graduate nurse’s knowledge, skills, and abilities upon entering the workforce to provide the best possible care.”

Under the agreement, AB Nursing students will earn their degree and fulfill most of their clinical rotations within the Mon Health System. Mon Health Scholars will be selected during the fall and spring semesters, available to any AB nursing student enrolled in the BSN degree program. An applicant must have a cumulative college GPA of 2.5 or higher and maintain the necessary GPA requirements for the AB School of Nursing to be considered.

“Alderson Broadus University School of Nursing has a renowned reputation regionally for the caliber of students graduating and entering clinical fields,” explains David Goldberg, President & CEO of Mon Health Systems. “We are fortunate to have the ability to grow our workforce with the best and the brightest right here close to home. Mon Health and the Mon Scholars program are committed to engaging with future healthcare professionals to ensure employment and best-in-class care for our community. We thank AB for this opportunity and a bright future together.”
