West Virginia University women’s basketball head coach Mark Kellogg announced on Apr. 7 the signing of Divine Tumba Tshibuabua to a grant-in-aid for the 2026-27 academic year.
The addition of Tshibuabua is expected to strengthen the team’s roster and provide depth in the forward position. She brings experience from both collegiate and international play, which could benefit the Mountaineers in upcoming seasons.
“We are excited to add another young piece to the roster in Divine,” Kellogg said. “She is a skilled forward who has a nice mix of strength and skill. Divine will help us in the paint and rebounding the ball. We are excited to welcome Divine to our Mountaineer basketball family.”
Tshibuabua, who stands at six-foot-two, played one season at Pitt before sitting out the 2025-26 season. She will join West Virginia as a redshirt freshman with four years of eligibility remaining. In high school, she attended Royal Crown Academy in Canada and contributed to her team’s victory at the Grind Session World Championship by scoring 12 points and collecting eight rebounds in the final game.
Internationally, Tshibuabua represented Team Canada U18 at championships in 2024, averaging nearly nine points per game and leading her team with almost seven rebounds per contest as they earned a silver medal. Her accolades include being named tournament MVP at Boston vs. New York Battle at Dyckman Park (2024), Mecca NYC and Game Point All-Star (2023), Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association All-Star, Royal Crown Team MVP, and Nike All-Canadian Game All-Star.
Tshibuabua plans to major in marketing and business while attending West Virginia University.
