West Virginia University volleyball coach Jen Greeny announced on May 18 the addition of Lauren Duncan, a setter who will join the Mountaineers for the 2026 season.

Duncan, who is from Brentwood, Tennessee, spent the spring semester of 2026 at Brigham Young University and will join West Virginia as a freshman. Her arrival is expected to strengthen the team’s roster and provide experience at the setter position.

“We are so excited to welcome Lauren to West Virginia Volleyball,” Greeny said. “She comes to us with valuable experience at the setter position, along with a high level of competitiveness and leadership. We are thrilled for her to join our program and make an immediate impact on this team.”

Duncan played her high school volleyball at Brentwood High School and competed in club volleyball with Alliance Volleyball Club under coach John Blair. She was recognized nationally for her performance on the court, including surpassing 2,000 assists during her prep career and earning selections such as two TSWA All-State honors, multiple TSSAA All-District and All-Tournament awards in both 2023 and 2024, as well as national tournament team recognitions.

Her achievements continued into her final year of high school where she earned distinctions such as Capitol Hill Best Setter, AVCA All-Region honors, TVBCA All-State selection, MVP of the Tennessee All-Star Game, several player of the year nominations, and was named a Middle Tennessee Sports Awards finalist.

Duncan said she looks forward to joining West Virginia: “The coaches are truly amazing and people I want to play for,” Duncan said. “They made my decision very clear the moment I got to talk to them. I’m excited to play with these girls.” She plans to major in sports nutrition at WVU.
