The West Virginia University rowing team will compete at the 2026 Big 12 Championship at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida, on May 17.

The event brings together six programs: UCF, Kansas, Kansas State, West Virginia, and affiliate members Old Dominion and Tulsa. These teams will vie for an NCAA automatic bid and the conference title.

West Virginia has previously raced against all five schools this season. The Mountaineers have met Old Dominion four times, Kansas and Tulsa three times each, and Kansas State and UCF twice each. The championship format includes six final-only races starting at 9 a.m., with scoring races beginning shortly after. An awards ceremony is scheduled to conclude the day’s events.

The team with the highest combined score from the three NCAA automatic qualifier races—1V8, 2V8, and 1V4—will earn a spot in the NCAA Championship. The team accumulating the most points across all five events (1V8, 2V8, 1V4, 2V4, and 3V8) will be named Big 12 champion.

The championship will be broadcast on ESPN+, with live results available online. Apparel for the event can be purchased through an online store or onsite during limited hours over the weekend. Parking is available on-site for $15 per vehicle.
