Three members of the West Virginia University women’s tennis team were named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on May 13.

The recognition highlights student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. The award is intended to honor those who have shown strong performance in their sport while maintaining high academic standards.

Sophomores Lyla Byers and Laura Villanueva Morillo, along with senior Audrey Moutama, each received CSC Academic All-District honors for their achievements. Byers has a 3.89 grade point average while majoring in industrial engineering. Moutama holds a 3.84 GPA in marketing, and Morillo earned a 3.82 GPA in coaching and performance science.

“The College Sports Communicators Academic All-District award honors the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom,” according to the organization announcement. The program recognizes tennis honorees across four divisions: NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
