Mens Basketball Prepares for MEC Tournament

The Alderson Broaddus Men's Basketball team finished their season with a win on Saturday. They beat Notre Dame College with a comeback win. Jalen Knott led the way in the win with 31 points. The Battlers finished the season with a record of 11-16 and 9-13 in conference play. AB will now be preparing for the Mountain East Conference Championship. Jalen Knott was a leader for the Battlers on offense this season, leading the team in points with 18.8 PPG, which was also 5th in the entire conference. The other leaders for AB were: Jon King (12.2 ppg), Coryon Rice ( 57 3PT), and Jalen Collins ( 5.3 RPG).

The Battlers finish the season as the number 9 seed in the MEC Conference. They will face off against the number 8 seed Concord. AB and Concord matched up twice during the regular season with each team winning one game.

Concord was able to handle the Battlers in their first match of the season winning 81-66. The Battlers kept close with the Mountain Lions in the first half however Concord was able to dominate the second half.

The second game of the season was a nail-biter as the game went into double overtime. The game went back and forth throughout most of the contest. Concord had the chance to tie the game in double OT but missed a critical free-throw, giving the Battlers the 101-100 win.

Alderson Broaddus will take on Concord this upcoming Wednesday at 8:30 at the WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, WV.
