August and December 2022 graduates of West Virginia University are invited to participate in Commencement ceremonies scheduled for Saturday, December 17, 2022 in the WVU Coliseum.

If you plan to participate, please complete the online registration form at https://bit.ly/3SW2sqC no later than Friday, December 9, 2022. This registration is in addition to the application to graduate (December graduates) through the Office of the University Registrar which is due by October 14, 2022.
Please keep the following information in mind as you make your plans:
- Clear Bag Policy will be in effect for all Commencement ceremonies. Learn more about the policy.
- On December 17, graduates will report to the Basketball Practice Facility (BPF) adjacent to the Country Roads gate one hour prior to the ceremony start time to check-in and receive instructions for line-up. Please refer to the start times above – 10:00 a.m. (check-in at 9 a.m.) and 2:00 p.m. (check-in at 1 p.m.) - for your school or college.
- Tickets are not required and there are no restrictions on the number of guests a graduate may bring. Each ceremony will last approximately two hours.
- Graduates are required to wear caps and gowns. Regalia is available for purchase online from Herff Jones or in person from the WVU Bookstores.
- Doctoral candidates will be hooded onstage by a faculty member of their choice or a WVU administrator. Master’s candidates will not be hooded on the event floor before approaching the stage.
- Commemorative programs will be mailed to the home (permanent) address on file so please make sure your address is correct in the system.
- Diplomas will be mailed after all grades are finalized and certified by the Office of the University Registrar.
- Names of the 2022 August and December graduates will be listed in the December 2022 Commencement program.
