The Davis & Elkins Cross Country teams competed at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships on November 19th in Mansfield, Pennsylvania. Both the men's and women's teams had a few of the top finishes in program history and had several standout performances at the event.
The Senator men finished 4th out of 23 teams, setting the mark for the second-highest finish in program history and just missing the NCAA automatic qualifying berth (top 3). The 4th place finish does keep the men in the pool of teams with the possibility of an at-large selection to the national championships. Their score was 2 spots higher than last year's 6th place finish in the same event.
Emeric Arnaud individually qualified for the NCAA National Championships, the first individual qualifier in program history. Arnaud was part of the 2019 squad that advanced as a team to the national championships, so this will be his second appearance at nationals.
Arnaud also made the NCAA Atlantic All-Region Team (top 25 finishers), along with Gabe Conder. It was Arnauds 3rd cross country all-region team selection and for Conder in his first semester at D&E, his first selection.
The D&E women finished 8th to tie the second-highest finish in program history and equaling the women's finish in the regional championships last year.
Kloe Littleman just missed the All-Region team (top 25) with her 27th place finish. The NCAA Cross Country National Championships will take place in the Chambers Bay area of University Park, Washington on Friday, December 2nd.
