Sprint Football Closes Season With a W

Battlers End 2022 Season on High Note

Alderson Broaddus Sprint Football team took on the Chestnut Hill Griffins last Saturday for the season closer.

Prior to the game, the Battlers honored Senior Quarterback Tim Tillman who joined the squad in Fall of 2019. This season Tillman has been averaging 109 passing yards per game. 

Early in the first quarter, Senior Tim Tillman had a 23-yard pass connecting with Caden Sanders who took it to the end zone putting AB up 7-0.

The Battlers increased their lead later in the 1st after a successful 32-yard field goal by Braden Knop. 

AB continued to shine in the second quarter after Willie Hopper had a 1 yard run into the end zone increasing the lead to 17-0.

Chestnut Hill started to come back in the 2nd quarter after a touchdown by Anthony Cancell and  a 27-yard field goal by Nasir Cooke making the score 17-10 Battlers going into the half. 

Alderson Broaddus lengthen the lead in the 3rd with a touchdown by Blake Baxter and another successful field goal by Knop increasing the Battler lead to 27-10.

The Griffins fought back in the 4th after two touchdowns by Zyier Pannel making the score 27-24.

Senior QB Tim Tillman once again led his offense with a 51-yard pass to Baxter with 9 minutes left in the fourth quarter making the score 34-24. 

The Griffins' offense did not surrender as Pannel added his 3rd touchdown of the game to the scoreboard now making the score 34-31 AB.

Tillman came out with 5 minutes left in his collegiate career making one last connection with Caden Sanders who hauled in a 58yd td, making the final score 40-31. 

Tillman ended the game with a total of 363 yards and 4 TD passes. Baxter finished the game with 10 grabs and 262 yards receiving. 

Alderson Broaddus defense was led by Ethan Codeluppi with 10 tackles, followed by Knight and Dunkle, each with 8. Keyonte Green also had 4 TFLS

The Battlers end their season with a program best 2-5 record.
