Senator Women Drop Home Opener

Davis & Elkins scored the first and final goals of the match, but had no answer when Charleston fired in four goals in a row between to down the Senators 4-2.

The opening goal of the contest, scored by Seika Ikezoe, passed by the Charleston goalkeeper in the lower left corner in the seventh minute. Alexa Karsel assisted on the goal.

The Golden Eagles evened the contest in the thirty-first minute on a Cassidy Collins goal. Less than a minute later, Charleston went up 2-1 when Sydney Wheeler scored off a Laura Vierhout assist.

Charleston scored quickly again, at the thirty-six minute mark. This time, the goal came from Sydney Cavender off the assist by Brooke Lucas and the Golden Eagles took a 3-1 lead into halftime.

Charleston's Rachel Osborn started off the scoring in the second half in the fifty-fourth minute.

Alexa Karsel capped off the scoring with a goal in the seventy-first minute. Roxanne McFarlin provided the assist.

D&E had thirteen shots in the game, with nine on goal.

The Senators fall to 1-1 on the season and 0-1 in the Mountain East, while Charleston improves to 1-2 and 1-0 in the MEC.

Up next for D&E is a road contest with Concord on Saturday, September 10.
