Marion County ranked 11th in West Virginia for resident earnings in 2019

Marion County ranked 11th among counties in West Virginia by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median income of Marion County residents was $26,069 per year, adjusted for inflation. It had 22,926 households with a population of 56,355.

The county with the highest median resident income in the state was Jefferson County with $34,869 per year after adjusting for inflation – $8,800 more than Marion County. It had 20,891 households with a population of 56,506.

The county with the lowest median resident income in the state was McDowell County with $17,088 per year after adjusting for inflation – $8,981 less than Marion County. It had 7,607 households with a population of 18,661.
