82 percent of applicants to West Virginia University were admitted for fall 2018

At West Virginia University, 94 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 51 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Morgantown enrolled 26,864 students in fall 2018, including 21,155 in undergraduate and 5,709 in graduate programs, data shows. 3.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

46 percent of undergraduates are residents of West Virginia, and 52 percent are residents of other states. 2 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (80 percent) and Black or African American (4 percent).

The school admitted 82 percent of the 18,639 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 31 percent enrolled.
