West Virginia University men’s basketball coach Ross Hodge announced on Apr. 16 the signing of Finley Bizjack to a grant-in-aid, adding him to the Mountaineers roster for the 2026-27 season.
The addition of Bizjack brings a player with proven scoring ability and experience at the collegiate level, which could impact the team’s performance in upcoming seasons.
Bizjack, a senior from Trophy Club, Texas, will transfer from Butler after three seasons. Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 190 pounds, he led Butler in scoring this past season with an average of 17.1 points per game and was named to the All-Big East Third Team. He reached his career milestone by scoring his 1,000th point against DePaul in his 97th career game.
“We are excited to have Finley Bizjack join our basketball program,” Hodge said. “Finley is a unique playmaker who can score and get others involved. Mountaineer fans are going to love watching the passion he plays with every night.”
Bizjack’s notable performances include matching his career high with 30 points at Providence this season and another 30-point game against Boise State during the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Crown in 2025. He was also named Big East Player of the Week on Jan. 26 after games against Marquette and DePaul where he scored 28 and 24 points respectively.
Throughout his college career so far, Bizjack has played in 98 games with 61 starts while shooting over forty-two percent from the field and thirty-six percent from three-point range. He has recorded double figures in scoring for forty-eight games and tallied twelve twenty-point games.
Before college, Bizjack attended Byron Nelson High School where he set school records for total points (2,832), three-pointers made (275), and assists (435). He was recognized as a finalist for Texas Class 6A Boys Basketball Player of the Year and earned All-State honors from the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.
