During the first quarter of 2026, Genesis WV Holdings, LLC owned Rosewood Center, according to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The facility, which is located in Taylor County, has been under the same owner since April 1, 2011.

Rosewood Center operates as a for-profit nursing home.

For that time frame, the nursing home received an overall CMS rating of 2, falling short of West Virginia’s statewide nursing home average of 2.9. CMS bases these ratings on important measures such as results from health inspections, staff numbers, and the overall quality of care delivered to residents.

The nursing home reported caring for an average of 63.8 residents each day in the first quarter of 2026, out of 69 beds in total. At present, Rosewood Center is not affiliated with any hospital.

CMS data shows that, in the first quarter of 2026, Rosewood Center incurred one fine totaling $14,433 and faced one penalty.

There were also two for-profit nursing homes in Taylor County, West Virginia, as of that quarter.

Based on U.S. Census Bureau estimates, the population of older adults in the U.S. continues to grow, even as the number of younger Americans decreases. Between 2020 and 2024, Americans age 65 or older rose by 13%, while the population under 18 declined by 1.7%. Over the past century, the country’s older adult population has surged from 4.9 million in 1920 to over 61 million by 2024.

A 2021 study indicates that nearly half of adults in this age range, about 28 million people, may need long-term services and support, with more than a third projected to require nursing home care at some point.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
