Rep. Riley M. Moore calls attention to Christian persecution and park funding challenges

Rep. Riley M. Moore, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, recently used his social media platform to address issues concerning religious violence and public lands legislation.

On March 29, 2026, Moore posted a call for support and prayers for Christian communities in the Middle East: “Please join me in praying for safety for Cardinal Pizzaballa, his flock, and all Christians in the Middle East during this Holy Week.”

The following day, on March 30, 2026, Moore referenced violent attacks against Christians in Nigeria: “This Palm Sunday, reports from Nigeria indicate that at least 10 Christians were martyred in the city of Jos. Radical Islamic terrorists opened fire on the Christians before hacking them to pieces with machetes. This is sickening and unacceptable, but it’s not surprising.” Attacks targeting Christian communities have been reported regularly in Nigeria’s Middle Belt region over recent years.

In another post on March 30, 2026, Moore expressed appreciation for support of proposed parks legislation: “Thank you for shouting out the PATRIOT Parks Act, @ChrisBarnardDL. Our parks are overrun and underfunded! Passing the Patriot Parks Act will fix that. Let’s get it done in time to celebrate 250 years of American freedom.” The PATRIOT Parks Act aims to address overcrowding and funding shortages affecting U.S. national parks.

Moore has been active on legislative efforts related to public lands as well as international human rights concerns.
