The facility offered 100 beds, which is four more than the county average for the first quarter of 2026. Morgantown Heights of Journey assisted an average of 78.2 residents throughout this period.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services assigned Morgantown Heights of Journey an overall rating of 1 out of 5. This is below the 2.9 average rating for state nursing homes in West Virginia.
Morgantown Healthcare Center had the largest capacity in the county during the quarter, offering 120 beds to residents.
In the first quarter of 2026, Morgantown Heights of Journey incurred one fine and one penalty, totaling $148,460.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates indicate that growth among the older adult population nationwide is outpacing that of younger age brackets. “Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education organization. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
