West Virginia University women’s basketball head coach Mark Kellogg announced on Apr. 21 the signing of Nylah Wilson for the 2026-27 academic year.

The addition of Wilson brings a new player with collegiate experience and a strong high school background to the Mountaineers’ roster. Her arrival is expected to add depth and versatility to the team as it prepares for future seasons.

“We’re excited to welcome Nylah Wilson to West Virginia Mountaineers women’s basketball. Nylah is a talented player who had a very strong high school career and is exactly the type of player we want in our program—tough, versatile, and competitive,” Kellogg said. “She brings great energy and has the ability to impact the game in a lot of different ways. We’re looking forward to getting her in our system and seeing her grow.”

Wilson, a 5-foot-9 guard from Chester, Virginia, played one season at Pitt before transferring, retaining three years of eligibility. In her freshman year, she appeared in six games, making her collegiate debut against Drexel where she recorded eight points, two rebounds, one assist, and one steal. She later posted nine points with two rebounds and one steal against Cornell.

During her high school career at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, Wilson led her team to its first national championship with a buzzer-beater three-pointer in the semifinals against Westtown School (PA). As a junior at Thomas Dale High School in Chester, she averaged 21 points per game along with notable contributions across assists, steals, and rebounds while helping guide her team to the state final.

Wilson was rated as a five-star prospect by ESPN.com (ranked No. 30 overall) for the class of 2025 and was ranked No. 34 nationally by On3.

She plans to major in Sports and Exercise Psychology at West Virginia University.
