West Virginia University women’s basketball head coach Mark Kellogg announced on April 28 the addition of Alexis Bordas to the program for the 2026-27 academic year.

Bordas, a guard from Wheeling, West Virginia, will join the Mountaineers after playing her freshman season at Duquesne. She has three seasons of eligibility remaining. Kellogg said, “We’re really excited to welcome Alexis Bordas home to West Virginia. She’s one of the most decorated players our state has produced, and she’s already proven she can score and compete at the college level. Alexis brings toughness, confidence, and the ability to stretch the floor, and we’re thrilled she chose WVU.”

During her freshman year at Duquesne, Bordas started all 31 games and led her team in scoring with an average of 15.5 points per game. She was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team and received Rookie of the Week honors four times. Her season included nine games with more than 20 points and a career-high performance of 38 points against Pitt.

In high school at Wheeling Park, Bordas led her team to an overall record of 85-22 over four years as well as a Class AAAA State Championship in 2024 and a runner-up finish in 2023. She was named West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year three times along with multiple other awards including MaxPreps Player of the Year honors.

Bordas finished her high school career as Wheeling Park’s all-time leading scorer with over 2,600 points and set records for three-pointers made both at her school and in Ohio Valley history.

Looking ahead, Bordas plans to major in Pre Med while attending West Virginia University.
