West Virginia University women’s basketball senior Jordan Harrison was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Third Team on April 15.
This recognition highlights student-athletes who excel both in academics and athletics. The honor reflects Harrison’s achievements in the classroom as well as her contributions on the court.
Harrison, a general business major, maintains a 3.52 grade point average. She was named to the Big 12 All-Academic First Team this past season and has been recognized on the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll for five consecutive semesters. On the court, she averaged 3.2 steals per game and recorded a total of 110 steals this season, ranking second on West Virginia University’s all-time single-season list. Both marks were the highest in the Big 12 Conference and ranked No. 12 and No. 9 nationally.
Her defensive play contributed to West Virginia having the second-best scoring defense in their conference, allowing an average of only 58.4 points per game. The team also averaged 11.1 steals and forced opponents into an average of 21.8 turnovers per game.
Harrison is now one of only four players from West Virginia University’s women’s basketball program to receive Academic All-America honors, joining Liz Repella (2010 and 2011), Rosemary Kosiorek (1992 and 1993), and Avery Fields (2015).
