West Virginia University freshman Jack Michael is tied for ninth place after two rounds at The Hootie at Bulls Bay tournament in Awendaw, South Carolina, according to a March 23 report from the university.

Michael shot a 2-under-par on Monday, following his 5-under-par performance on Sunday. This places him at a total of 7-under-par after 36 holes and keeps him within the tournament’s top ten competitors.

Other West Virginia players also contributed to the team’s standing. Kaleb Wilson finished Monday’s round with a score of 1-under-par and is currently among the top thirty-five participants with an overall score of two under par. Westy McCabe and Aidan Dortch each completed their second rounds with scores of one over par; McCabe remains even for the tournament while Dortch stands at two over par. Nick Turowski ended both his day and cumulative play so far with scores of two over par.

The Mountaineers collectively posted a team score of one under par on Monday, bringing their overall standing to eleventh place at eight under par heading into the final round.

The competition will conclude Tuesday morning as teams prepare for the last round.
