Jack Michael achieves career-best finish at The Hootie golf tournament

West Virginia University freshman Jack Michael achieved his best collegiate finish on Mar. 24, placing 11th at The Hootie at Bulls Bay in Awendaw, South Carolina.

Michael, who is from Huntington, West Virginia, finished the tournament with scores of 67-70-74 for a total of 211 and a score of five under par. Senior Kaleb Wilson also performed well, tying for 20th place after shooting consistent rounds of 71-71-71 to end three under par with a total score of 213.

Other team members included Nick Turowski who finished six over par (72-74-76=222), Aidan Dortch at eight over par (73-73-78=224), and Westy McCabe at nine over par (71-73-81=225). Overall, the Mountaineers placed tenth out of fifteen teams with rounds totaling 281-287-299 for a combined score of three over par (867).

The Mountaineers are scheduled to wrap up their regular season by hosting the annual Mountaineer Invitational on April 13 and April 14 at Pete Dye Golf Club in Bridgeport, West Virginia.
