Hartley VanGilder has been recognized as the Outstanding Student of the Year for 2025 at West Virginia University Potomac State College. VanGilder, who majored in BAS SAGE and agribusiness management, was honored during the college’s annual Recognition Day Awards Ceremony.

As part of this recognition, VanGilder served as the student speaker at this year’s Commencement Ceremony. Her name will also be added to the Duke Anthony Whitmore Henry Louis Gates, Jr. Academic Achievement Wall. The award was presented by President Jerry Wallace.

VanGilder’s achievements highlight her academic excellence and contributions to the college community.
