Census Bureau: 79.5% of people in Barbour County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 15,600 citizens living in Barbour County in 2021, 79.5% were old enough to vote, equating to 12,403 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 5,995 were male, constituting 48.3%, and 6,408 were female, making up 51.7%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Barbour County during 2021 was lower than the state average, which stands at 79.7%.
